Investor pitch Q&A

Investor questions that test the story behind your pitch

Investors use Q&A to test whether the opportunity is large, the evidence is real, and the team learns quickly enough to build an advantage. The best answers connect a claim to a measured fact.

Problem, market, and customer

  • Who feels the problem most urgently, and how do you know?
  • How did you calculate the reachable market rather than the total market?
  • What behavior proves customers will pay or switch?
  • Why is now the right time for this product?

Traction, economics, and growth

  • Which metric best predicts retention?
  • How much does it cost to acquire a customer by channel?
  • What does gross margin look like at scale?
  • Which growth assumption has the least evidence today?

Competition, moat, team, and financing

Avoid treating every question as an invitation to pitch again. Give the number, source, or observation first. If the data is early, label it honestly and explain the experiment that will produce a stronger answer.

  • What do customers use when they do not use your product?
  • What becomes harder to copy as you grow?
  • Why is this team unusually suited to solve the problem?
  • What milestone will this round finance, and what happens if it takes longer?
